The Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI) is seeking a full-time professor who is willing to rethink the way we teach strategic design management. DIDI is a world-class design university located in the Dubai Design District. Interdisciplinary design education is at the core of DIDI’s mission, with an innovative curriculum developed in collaboration with the MIT School of Architecture and Urban Planning and Parsons the New School.
Successful candidates will be responsible for the delivery of engaging and innovative course content in strategic design management. The Strategic Design Management Professor will be teaching hands-on studios, applied workshops, and/or lectures in design management, creative thinking, consulting craft, business planning for designers, service design, and other areas of the discipline.
DIDI is interested in subject specialists, especially individuals who defy categorization because of their ability to work across different disciplines. A good understanding of how design bridges between rapid technological advances and disruptive strategic forces is a must.

Successful candidates will be responsible for the delivery of engaging and innovative course content in multimedia design on a part-time basis. The Multimedia Design Adjunct Professor will be teaching a hands-on studio in interaction and screen-based design, which could include video, motion graphics, UX/UI, and other areas of the discipline using the latest tools and software.

Principle accountabilities:
- Implementation of all Laboratory Health and Safety procedures.
- Supervising building maintenance, cleaning and security teams.
- Assist in machinery maintenance, servicing, cleaning and calibration.
- Arranging consumables for machinery operations and maintenance.
- Identify and attend continued professional development training.
DIDI Workshop Delivery and Student Engagement
- Sourcing and procuring material requirements.
- Assist in the delivering and supervision of workshops.
- Assisting students with their design challenges, requirements and projects.
- Promoting DIDI at industry events (design days, design week…)
- Assist in meeting interested visitors to DIDI and in5 Design and showing them Lab and the Facilities.
Requirements for consideration:
- Keen interest to do team work in a startup environment, and ability to be flexible and adaptive.
- Professionalism – with competent verbal and written communication skills.
- Educated to degree level.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience, preferably in a similar working environment.
- Significant knowledge across Software and Machines (Adobe Suite, 3D Modelling and Rendering, CNC and CAM experience, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability for developing efficient and effective solutions to diverse business problems.
- Needs to be organized and able to handle multiple tasks on an ongoing basis.
